About

Greenline Print

Greenline Print is an online platform for grading and labelling life cycle emissions of prints.

The calculator quantifies life cycle greenhouse gas emissions of a print run based on your specific order criteria, determines and improves (when possible) the label parameters, assigns a grade for the emissions level and generates a unique label for immediate downloading and publishing.

Our aim is to make printing more transparent and to encourage publishers to choose an ever smaller climate impact for their prints.

Our core principles

  • Solid methodology

A transparent and trustworthy foundation is paramount to the Greenline Print initiative. We follow PAS 2050 specification developed by the British Standards Institution and ISO 16759:2013 for cradle-to-gate carbon footprinting of our products. All used data is based on actual production and high-quality scientific literature.

  • No carbon offsets

Our stance on carbon offsetting is that it doesn’t communicate the real value of environmental efforts in the paper and printing industry and does not stimulate emissions reduction in production. Therefore we do not offer any forms of carbon offsetting nor does the PAS 2050 standard allow offsets to be accounted for in the carbon footprinting of the products.
